Creative and very original orange candle lamp
If you buy even the most festive and elegant candles in the store, all the same they will not look as creative and unusual as a candle made by yourself from an orange. Yes, yes, you heard right, it was from an orange! And I must say, this activity is very interesting, funny and fascinating, which will help to decorate your home. For this craft, even slightly defective and unsightly evidence oranges are suitable. The project is quite easy - you just need a knife for cutting. So, let's begin:
To start, prepare the selected oranges;
Cut the peel in the middle of the orange and walk around its entire circumference using a fruit knife and a cutting board;
Remove the cut half from the peel, then carefully remove the orange from the second half of the peel, for which gently insert a finger under the peel and try to make everything so that there are no tears or cracks, we need a whole peel without damage;
Next, locate the wick, for the base of which the white part of the fetal membranes is usually used, attached to the skin, which remains after the removal of the flesh itself;
Now add olive oil (about three tablespoons) to cover the base, and let the wick soak it in (about 2 to 3 minutes);
Now you can create a nice and diverse functional design of the hole that allows the candle to “breathe”, the design can be worked out on paper first to eliminate mistakes when working with the peel, these can be holes in the form of stars, hearts, etc., after the shape will be determined, take the top (half the peel) and cut a hole on it strictly according to the stencil created on paper, using the same fruit knife for this;
Light a candle, perhaps this will not work out on the first try, but do not despair;
Cover the candle with the upper part (half of the peel) with a cut out figured hole - at this stage our candle is ready for use
It's time to enjoy!
