DAF Museum

The theme of the exposition is the history of the appearance and development of DAF. Many visitors are surprised to learn that the concern produced not only trucks, but also cars and even sports cars.

On the ground floor there are trucks manufactured in different years. The first floor is dedicated to the 30s of the 20th century. There are also souvenir shops, cafes, restaurants and you can visit the main office of the founder of the company. The exhibits on the top floor are cars, among which there are developed models that did not go into production.

Church of St. Catherine

Roman Catholic Church, located in the center of Eindhoven, namely on Catherine Square. The church was erected on the site where the temple used to be, consecrated in honor of Catherine of Alexandria. The church officially opened in 1240, and at the end of the 14th century it was given collegial status. The building is decorated in a neo-Gothic style, designed by architect Pierre Coopers. Construction work was carried out from 1861 to 1867.

Interesting fact! The most remarkable part of the church is two towers 73 meters high, they are called David and Maria Tower.

Since 1972, the church of St. Catherine is included in the list of national monuments of the Netherlands.

The tour with a tasting involves not just a visit to the factory and a guide's explanation, but also the opportunity to try liquors, beer, gin and vodka. The duration of the tour is about 1.5 hours, the cost is 25 €.

Gin production is an exciting program in which guests are shown the complete process of producing a drink, from preparing raw materials to ripening in oak barrels. The tour is very atmospheric, as it implies a complete immersion in the process. Of course, at the end of sightseeing events, guests can taste gin varieties. The duration of the program is approximately 2.5 hours, the price is 42.5 €.

Zoo Dierenrijk

The zoo is a natural area where the most comfortable conditions for the life of different animals and the guests are created. Bears, elephants, lions, camels, monkeys, parrots live here. Many playgrounds are also equipped, some of them in the open, and some indoors. There is also a golf course.

Almost all animals are kept in such a way that guests have the opportunity to examine them and even feed some. To get enough exercise in the zoo, plan a minimum of 4 hours.

Good to know! Throughout the day, the zoo hosts various shows with the participation of animals - elephants, seals.

Phillips Museum

The museum does not have an official site, but this does not affect the attendance of the attraction, which is located on Looyenbeemd 24, this is on the outskirts of Eindhoven.

The director of a fascinating institution, Jean Lorteye, is very reminiscent of a mad scientist. It was he who took an active part in the restoration of the building, a collection of which today has more than 20 thousand exhibits. The room does not allow to display all objects at once, so you can see only a thousand exhibits, but the best.

The halls exhibit items that were produced at the Eindhoven factory in different years. In general, the attraction is modest - shop windows are installed, but you have a unique chance to learn in detail the history of electronics. The collection includes carbon lamps, speakers and radios, a TV, shaving devices, microscopes, medical and musical equipment.

Museum "Van Abbe"

This attraction has earned the fame of "the leftmost museum in Europe." Here is the largest collection of avant-garde artist El Lissitzky, as well as other authors. The museum regularly hosts exhibitions of contemporary artists.

The landmark is located in a compact building of red brick, visually resembling a military cruiser. For interior decoration, white and red colors were used. The exposition is quite large, a suspension car with a bed is of great interest. At the entrance, visitors are given yellow ottomans, which you can sit on to examine the exhibits more carefully and with great comfort. You can grab a bite to eat at the cafe.

Local brewery

A wonderful, atmospheric establishment where you can try 14 beers. The drinks serve delicious dishes. In the warmer months, you can relax and enjoy a beer on the terrace, which overlooks the Dommel River. Near the factory there is a 100 Watt cafe located in the premises of the old Schellens factory.

The factory staff regularly conduct sightseeing tours, inviting guests to taste new beers. Important! The tour involves tasting three beers and one liqueur and the corresponding snacks.

How to get to Eindhoven from Amsterdam

From the capital of the Netherlands, Amsterdam, Eindhoven can be reached in several ways. The easiest and most comfortable way is to rent a car. A serious argument in favor of this way of travel is free roads.

Car trip

From Amstredam you can get to Eindhoven on the A2 highway - this is a typical highway, several lanes of cars move in each direction. What is characteristic - there are no traffic jams, so you can get to your destination quickly and without hassle.

Train "Eindhoven - Amsterdam"

From Amsterdam by bus

Bus trips are provided by Eurolines; this type of transport is not as common as trains. Only 4 flights are provided per day - two in the morning and two in the afternoon. Buses depart from Amsterdam Train Station and arrive at the Eindhoven train station. You can get to your destination in 2-3 hours.
